Entrance examinations

All universities of applied sciences (UAS) arrange entrance examinations. All applicants who have demonstrated their eligibility and language skills will be invited to the entrance examinations.

Many UAS cooperate in the entrance examinations. This means that an entrance examination completed at one UAS is accepted by another. Mikkeli UAS cooperates in the entrance examinations in the fields of business and technology.

All entrance examinations are arranged between 2 April and 3 May 2013.

The national entrance examinations are arranged in Mikkeli, Finland as follows:

Degree Programme in Business Management 24 April 2013
Degree Programmes in Environmental Engineering and Information Technology 25 April 2013.

To make up your mind about which 1 - 4 degree programmes to apply for, you can check which UAS co-operate in entrance examinations and which UAS arrange entrance examinations ouside Finland from the website www.admissions.fi => Application practicalities, Selection of New Students/Entrance examinations, Co-operating degree programmes.

Business management

The entrance exam for Business management programme consists of four parts: an essay (25 points) and multiple-choice questions (15 points) that are based on pre-reading material, mathemathics/logic section (20 points) and a group discussion (40 points).

Applicants must pass all the parts of the examination in order to be selected for admission. The entrance examination includes a mandatory evaluation of English language skills that is done on the basis of different examination sections (there are no points given separately for this integrated language test).

Pre-reading material

The pre-reading material for the International Business Entrance Exam 2013 is the PDF file "Fiskars Annual Report 2011".

Reading instructions for Fiskars Annual Report 2011: The entrance exam essay and multiple-choice questions will be based on the Fiskars Annual Report 2011 pages 1 to 47 (the chapter on “Remuneration” ending on page 47 is the last page to study for the exam).

The material is available at this website until 24 April 2013. Applicants must study the material carefully before the entrance exam. It is not allowed to take the material to the actual exam, and the material is not available during the exam.
