Mamk students in a serious car collision in Lapland

Three students of Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences were killed in car collision on Saturday. One student was seriously injured. The accident occured in Lapland on a road between Ivalo and Inari. Totally seven people in two cars were involved in the accident.

All the deceased were exchange students studying Business Management and Tourism. They were of German, French and Greek nationalities. The deceased were a female and two males.

Crisis support is available in Mikkeli campus. There will be a separate info session for the study groups of exchange students.

Flags are flown half-staff on all Xamk campuses on Tuesday 8.3. There will be a minute's silence on Mikkeli campus on Tuesday at 12.00 to honor the students killed in the accident.

Mikkeli University of Applied of Sciences expresses it's condolences to victims' families and fellow students. We are deeply shocked by the tragic car accident.
