Travel connections and getting around
The campuses of Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences are located in Mikkeli, Savonlinna and Pieksämäki. Travelling to the towns is easy by car, bus or train.
You can see the distances between the towns and e.g. to Helsinki in
the graph below. The travel times to certain larger cities are given in
the tables on the right side. For example, from Helsinki it takes about
2,5 hours by train to Mikkeli.

Both in Mikkeli and Savonlinna the campuses are located right near the town centre. It takes only 10 minutes to walk from the market place to the Main Campus in Mikkeli, and the distance in Savonlinna is even shorter. The travel centre in Mikkeli is located only a block away from the market place and it is easy to walk to the campus area when arriving by bus or train.
Nikkarila Campus in Pieksämäki is located nearby lake Kukkarojärvi, about 5 km from the town centre. There are also shared apartments available for students on campus!
Campus Bicycle Service "Kampus-jopo"
The students and staff members of Mikkeli University of Applied Sciences can rent Campus Bicycles for short or long term use in our campuses in Mikkeli, Savonlinna and Pieksämäki. The possible loan periods are 2 days, 28 days and 120 days. There are 100 bicycles available for rent, of which 70 in Mikkeli, 5 in Pieksämäki and 25 in Savonlinna. Bicycles - kampus-jopos can be borrowed from the following MUAS libraries:
