Welfare
Students' welfare is an important part of student life. At Mikkeli UAS we try to promote students´welfare in many different ways.

Student health care
Students are entitled to use the services of school nurses and doctor free of charge. In case doctor´s services are not available, students can use the services of public health care centre. Detailed information about health care services on different campuses on Student.
Curator
Students have the opportunity to use curator's services during studies in Mikkeli UAS. Curator co-works with teachers and nurses. Students can talk with curator in confidence concerning studying or other life´s problems such as relationships, mental health, money or time issues, depression, alcohol and drug abuse. Curator’s services are available for all students and they are free of charge.
University chaplain
In each town, there is a university chaplain, a Lutheran Pastor available to assist students who are in need of personal guidance or counselling. The university chaplains provide a means of contact with the activities of the Lutheran Church, and answer emotional and religious questions in conversation as well as help in crisis situations. The university chaplain can also assist to find connections to other religious groups in Finland.
Facilities for special needs students
All students make their personal study plans (Finnish abbreviation: HOPS) together with tutor teachers. Special needs are taken into consideration in this process. The buildings on the campuses of Mikkeli UAS are from different decades and therefore some are more passable than others. In some of the buildings there are elevators and toilets that are designed for disabled persons. For special arrangements, please contact the student services or the teacher in advance. All restaurants on campus are easily accessible and they offer meals for students who have special diets.
