In our Information Technology programme you will learn how to design and implement solutions both in mobile and wired worlds. We have targeted the focus of our curriculum on the real needs of the IT industry. Together with our business partners (like Cisco and Avid) we can offer you a modern environment to develop your professional skills.

Objective of the Information Technology Degree Programme

The objective of the degree programme in Information Technology is to educate the innovators of the future Internet. We offer you required skills in different aspect of information technology including network technologies, hardware and software engineering as well as media technology. Most of your professional studies will be carried out in our new IT Centre, Mikpoli.

Subject-specific competences

Network technology competence

You know how the telecommunication networks work. You learn how the local area network is designed, operated and managed. You know the wide area network and how it functions. You can build data secure network solutions. You know the steps of system design process and you are able to manage projects.

Server systems competence

You can specify and design a working and reliable server system. You know the PC and server hardware technologies, and you can build virtualized server systems. You understand the essentiality of laws and data security.

Programming competence

You can solve different kinds of problems by programming. You can select the proper tools and programming techniques to build data secure solutions for different purposes. You can configure and manage the server systems. You familiarize to scripting (shell, Perl, Python, CGI etc.)

After completing the Degree Programme in Information Technology, the student is awarded the degree of Bachelor of Engineering. The extent of the degree programme is 240 ECTS credits. The duration of studies is approx. 4 years. The language of instruction in the programme is English.

MAMK students gained success in an international CCNA NetRiders competition.

Information Technology program's student Olga Kushanova has gained second position in Finnish category. Evgeniia Gromyko and Evgeny Malygin from the same program got third and fourth positions. All three got to the next round to represent Finland in an EMEA International NetRiders on July.
